Our Story + Leadership

The iconic white clapboard building on Montauk Highway has served as a restaurant, bar, and gathering place since 1969.

In 2019, Armin & Judy began a thoughtful transformation of this historic property with a simple vision: to create one of the Hamptons’ most distinctive hospitality destinations.

Today that vision includes an elegant Mid-Century French Brassiere-inspired restaurant, an artisan Boulangerie, neighborhood café, specialty grocer, curated wine cellar, outdoor gardens, a pétanque court and our beloved chicken coop with our French Marins and Speckled Eggers are all HIDDEN behind the restaurant in our gardens overlooking the little Two Tree pond.

Every addition has been made with purpose, creating a place where guests can begin their morning with coffee and croissants, linger over lunch in the garden, gather for cocktails at sunset, and enjoy memorable dinners inspired by the extraordinary ingredients of Long Island’s East End.

Over the years, Armin & Judy has become a gathering place where neighbors, artists, visitors, and longtime friends return to restore—not simply for a meal, but for a transformative experience that feels welcoming, authentically European and uniquely Hamptons.

As we continue to grow, our commitment remains unchanged: exceptional comfort food and hospitality, and transatlantic experiences worth sharing.

  • Our Culinary Philosophy —

At Armin & Judy, every meal begins with exceptional ingredients and the belief that simple food, prepared with care, is often the most memorable.

Our menus celebrate the changing seasons, drawing inspiration from East End farms, local fishermen, and the classic traditions of European cooking. Fresh seafood, thoughtfully sourced meats, seasonal vegetables, artisan cheeses, naturally fermented breads, and house-made preparations form the foundation of our cuisine.

This philosophy is shared by our entire culinary team. Under the leadership of Culinary Director Melissa O’Donnell, our kitchen continues to evolve while remaining rooted in the values that define Armin & Judy visions of quality, craftsmanship, warmth and hospitality.

Many of the ingredients featured throughout our menus are also available in our Boulangerie • Café • Grocer, allowing guests to bring a little of the Armin & Judy experience home.

  • Meet Our Culinary Director —

Melissa O’Donnell has spent decades helping shape New York City’s restaurant community, creating neighborhood restaurants known for seasonal cooking and genuine hospitality while aligned with Armin & Judy’s beloved Casanis and Tappo Restaurant haunts in the East Village of Manhattan.

Today Melissa joins a talented team at Armin & Judy as Culinary Director, bringing her passion for thoughtful, ingredient-driven cuisine and her deep appreciation for the remarkable farms, fisheries, and producers of the East End.

Working alongside our chefs, bakers, pastry team, and front-of-house professionals, Melissa helps guide the continued evolution of our menus while supporting the vision that has always defined Armin & Judy (you might find Melissa behind the bar revisiting her bartending skills of yesterday years).

Rather than changing who we are, she strengthens what we have always believed—that extraordinary dining begins with exceptional ingredients, skilled craftsmanship, and cultivated team who genuinely support Armin & Judy’s culinary visions.
